I had so much planned for the past week in the way of blog posts! Apologies for being so behind, but this time it wasn't down to a case of forgetting - I picked up a puppy on Friday!
I've wanted a dog since I was tiny, but there was never a good time for us to get one and unfortunately that time has now come about when I've moved out the house; my parents live about 6 hours away from me, on a small island, and so I've come home for the week to get the puppy settled in!
I am in LOVE. She's a wee nuisance right now, but she's the sweetest little thing! Her name is Ellie, and she's an 8 week old Golden Retriever :) Her favourite thing at the minute seems to be socks and slippers, despite the numerous toys she's been given!
(for some reason she looks like a totally different dog in every photo!)
I haven't done much else except for puppy-sitting, so I just haven't got round to even getting uni coursework done let alone some posts! Hopefully I'll make up for it next week! (Also expect plenty of pupdates from now on!)

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People: A Story
I have a new
embarrassing story for myself :)
This initially
happened like months ago, but my flatmate and I were out one night, we got out
of the club and headed for food. We were standing waiting to get served when,
for reasons that are unfortunately a tad cloudy, she got a hold of my phone and
ended up requesting Greg James as a friend on Facebook.
Yeah, like Greg
James, the Radio 1 DJ and presenter. Lil' backstory here – I’ve had
a little bit of a crush on this guy since I was like 13, and shamelessly,
everyone knows it (13 year old Hannah would be mortified at me right now, btw).
My flatmate also knew this, and when I realised three days later that the
request was still pending (and of course, therefore was ignored without even
being rejected, rude), I just about died.
So that’s all
good, right? I cancelled the request, life can continue – albeit, should I ever
come to meet the poor guy I couldn’t disclose my identity out of fear of the
police being called. But that’s not how I do things cause I’m just the absolute
worst.
Fast forward like
three months to last week, and it’s all forgotten about. Myself and the same
flatmate spend the evening reminiscing on past years at uni with some wine, and
eventually each head off to bed. But the reflections have me thinking. All the
chat of lost friendships and fallouts have me feeling like amends need to be
made. I need to make things right with people I have wronged in the past.
And of all the
people, my intoxicated mind decided Greg was a must. As if he still lies awake
at night, questioning over and over again whatever the case of that random
Scottish girl was. So I wrote him an email, apologising and asking for his
forgiveness. Then promptly fell asleep, and forgot all about it.
I’m a dedicated Podcastard
(props if you know what this is), and so on Friday I put on the new edition of
the "That's What He Said" podcast while I pottered around my room for a bit. And
about 15 minutes in, I genuinely screamed.
Have you ever felt
ready to curl up and die at the sound of Chris Smith with the News recounting
your drunken antics? And only hearing Greg’s response as an audibly disgusted
“oh god”? If so, is there any counseling available?
Moral of the
story: don’t add strangers on Facebook, even if they’re radio presenters. Not
only is it weird, but you’ll never live it down.

Five Friday Faves!
Hello luvvies :)
So I haven’t actually been doing much
recently worth blogging about, just cause of uni and stuff (dissertations are
looming, ew) so I figured I’d do a wee list of all my favourite things this
week, and five of them just because alliteration – woo
1. This cushion
I’m very much in love with Primark’s home
section, just cause they’ve got so many cute little things and I’m a sucker for
that kind of stuff… but the whole student thing means I can’t go and buy
everything (boo). I came across these gorgeous little rose gold cushions
though! I’m in love with rose gold and am now considering changing the colours
in my room around this cushion haha. They’re currently £3 in store, no idea why
I only bought one!
(Enjoy my skirting board btw, my bed was too messy to take a photo of haha)
2. TRNSMT line-up
Hoooooly smokes I am beyond excited for
this! I was gutted to hear about T in the Park being cancelled for this year,
and when I heard there was going to be a different thing in Glasgow Green I
wasn’t all that bothered. Then I kind of forgot about it all and was counting
on Radio 1’s Big Weekend instead – till I realised TRNSMT is the Glasgow Green
one! I adore Two Door Cinema Club and have been begging my friends to come to a
concert with me for ages, I don’t even know how many times I’ve seen Twin
Atlantic, Kasabian were amazing at T two years ago and BIFFY!!! I’ve somehow
got to this stage without seeing them so far!? GAAAAH. Yes yes yes.
3. The Magic iPod
Admittedly, I didn’t come across this by
myself. I was listening to Radio 1 while doing coursework the other day, and on
Scott Mills’ show they were discussing this mad website where you can mix two
songs – that really shouldn’t go together, FYI – and they just work, for some
reason. So I tried it out and I can proudly say I stayed on there for a good
hour, sending Snapchats of all my mixes to everyone. The link is here, pass on
the magic! >>> http://themagicipod.com
4. Smoothies
Is this a weird one? I feel like it’s a
weird one to have on here. It’s hardly a new concept to me, but I’ve been
trying to eat more healthy the last few weeks and have started making smoothies
for breakfast – I never eat breakfast btw, so this is like a major
breakthrough. Practically living for my smoothies at the moment. Don’t judge.
5. NYX Lip Lingerie
So I know these have been out for quite a
while now, but my local Boots only just got them in a short time ago and I’ve
been patiently waiting to finally get some… I picked up “Bedtime Flirt” and “Corset”
and I absolutely love them! I normally use the Kylie Lipkits, but these are
quickly become my favourites – they’re really light and stay on for ages. Would
definitely recommend! :)
